Meet Our Director
My name is Kirsten Van Es- Hess, and I am the Center Director for A Child’s Place Antioch. Nothing compares to the joy and love I have for making an amazing place for children and families, as seen by my 36 years in the field. I work to make a difference in the lives of children and families to help give them a great start in life.
I grew up in the area and have had strong connections with our local ski hill just over the boarder at Wilmot Mountain teaching young children how to ski for over ten years. When I am not at the school, you can find me at the gym or spending time with my husband and family. We enjoy traveling to the beach and Colorado for ski trips!
Meet Our Assistant Director
Hi, I’m Julie Owens, and I’m the Assistant Director at A Child’s Place in Antioch! I have 23 years of experience in early childhood education, including 5 years as a Director. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Administration, an Associate in Science in Business, and a Level 5 Early Childhood Education Credential.
My journey in early childhood care began when I decided to stay home with my three boys and start a home daycare. Over the years, I developed a passion for nurturing young children, supporting families, and creating a safe, loving environment where children can learn and grow. When families come to our center, we want them to feel welcomed, valued, and at ease. We want them to know that their child is more than just a name on a roster; they are a little person who deserves to feel loved, safe, supported, and encouraged every day.
